My personal Opinion... There should be NO Mosque built in New York! New York is a very sensitive area! Putting a Muslim church there would be like a slap in the face! Thats what I have to say...

I agree every one should have a place to worship but because of past events it should be elsewhere.From what I've researched any Catholic churches built in Islamic countries have been persecuted and many burnt down.Quite the hot topic.

I looked into my own question, apparently the Mosque was going to be built 3 blocks from ground zero... I really don't like that at all. For anyone who doesn't know what Ground Zero is, that's where the World Trade Center was hit in 2001.

IMO all religions should be treated equally... Catholic churches shouldn't get burned in Islamic countries, and we shouldn't make a big deal about a Muslim mosque bulit in ours. Think of all the people who have been killed becaue someone wouldn't tolorate another religion... The Crusades, the Muslims burning churches... the Salem Witch Trials... even today people get crap about it, and it just needs to stop. Just treat each other the same, and stop trying to force others into your beliefs!

Everyone has a right to their opinion. I'm not trying to say they don't. I'm just stating mine, 3 blocks from Ground Zero is still a very sensitive area. Building the Mosque deeper into NY wouldn't bother me as much. This would not have been the only Mosque in NY so I have no problem with the place of worship... just where they wanted to put it.
