Our power never seems to go out here.  The last time it went out was about 3 years ago.  Lightening hit the transformer in the back yard (right when I was unplugging my computer).  It was so loud, my ears were ringing for hours.

When the power goes out I laugh like hell!

I work for the electricity company! I always love going to work the next day and finding out what caused it.

The last good one we had was due to a Possum (Australian Mammal) jumping into a zone substation and shorting two 11kV busbars. It took out most of the North side of Sydney (the protection settings were a little too sensitive...) and the Possum no longer exists Smiley
