They could turn things around if they put an effort into it...
Training employees in customer service would be a good idea. It would certainly be a huge step in the right direction.

Seriously doubt that they can recover and be what they once were.

Like I said, electronics are ho-hum and are outdated almost to the point
when they are released to the public.  Perhaps like Dell Computers just
deal with the public directly and avoid a middle man.

I see Best Buy is reeling from their quarterly earnings.  They are in much better shape than CC but
like I said.  A bag of groceries is more important that a flat screen TV.

Best Buy is worse than Circut City IMO... I refuse to shop there, they are rude and pushy...
Not to mention how the geek squad overcharges for doing menial work on peoples computers.

I don`t even need to get started on slamming that store.  RRM RRM RRM RRM RRM

Geek squad prices are a joke!!  I can't imagine them getting any business with those prices.

Diagnostic  169.99
Diagnostic and repair $299.99

Are you kidding me?  For that much you could just buy a new computer.  I only charge $30 for a diagnostic and $80 for a repair.

They hold your computer for ransom, if you wont pay them. (They don`t tell you it`s going to cost so much, till after the work is done.)
Good prices Davagator.  Afro
These days, I just fix our computer myself... whenever possible.

I do the same thing.  The prices at Best Buy are outrageous.  Plus, they lure people in with a low cost item and then attempt to bump the price up by installing software and stuff.

I suppose they have a right to hold peoples computers for not paying.
But it`s unfair not to give them some idea how much a repair will cost... also, they should get permission to fix the things no one asked them to fix, not just assume you want it fixed, then charge even more when you go to pick it up.

And yes, they do try to bump up the price of many items. Their newer computers don`t even come with an OS disk. They tell you to make your own recovery disk. When they told me that, I passed on the computer I almost bought.

Most newer computers have a recover mode installed within them.  You do not even need a recovery disk.

Some data will be lost if you do not backup your files.

Fry's Electronics seems to be the best company right now.  There is only one in my area but it is quiet large
and very consumer friendly.

Unfortunately, if the problem is with the hard drive then the separate partition in which the recovery program is on is useless.

The laptop I bought recently had recovery dics, fortunately.

I bought this computer from Cheap Guys computers 4 years ago. It came with an XP disk. I had to replace the hard drive a while back, and was very happy I had the disk.  Afro Cost me less than $80.00 to fix.
