Unfortunately the trend now is business' laying off people rather than hiring.

We just got an email update on our budget. They have suspended all hiring and are planning on cutting some scholarships. On top of that they're planning on raising tuition. Not good news. There isn't any mention of layoffs yet though.

Same here.  Huge budget cuts and a hiring freeze.  (probably means, no raises next year too  )
