Not In Our Town, NOt This Christmas!!!

I wrote this several years ago, but today I dusted it off and decided to post it... in times of trouble it is nice to know that others care, and maybe this will inspire someone to do something, right up till New Year's and beyond... hope you like it

The snow falls softly in our town
And it is in the Town Hall that all gather round...
We travel in groups
And some are real snoops!!!

But, on this day, it matters not
For we get together to find out who hasn't got...
No need for shame
That is not the name of this great game!!!

We give what we can
And we make all the plans
Not a child will be forgot
And all will brag about what they got!!!

Santa, doesn't choose
Nope, not in our town do the poor lose...
We wrap them up tight
And head out into the cold night!!!

Proud of what we have done
For our fellow brother and his son...
For Christmas morn comes too soon
And not one child that slumbers and dreams shall do without under the full moon!!!

We have so much to be gratefull for
Even though the devil may knock apon our door..
No time to worry, why me, why now
Not when a child wants a sled to tow!!!

Spread cheer with a smile and a gift
For it surely will spread throughout the land and a sad heart it will lift.
Kiss children in their warm beds
And hope and pray they have warm threads!!!

Good cheer to one and all
And here is hoping family and friends will call
But remember, to lighten the heart
And spread a smile as you fill your shopping cart!!!
