2012 is going to be just like 2000. Everyone expected the worst to happen and then nothing did....

Life is a miracle in itself. Each second you are alive is due to your body keeping a fine balance of temperature, blood pressure, breathing, and other functions.
We pass though this existance with some duration in time and experience. The longer we live the more we experience.
Worry speculates that something soon to come will abode ill winds. Perhaps sometimes it is good to worry because in worryment breeds caution. Maybe overly, but to err on that side is usually a good tactic in survival mode.
One thing I have always thought about Western Man is that when his time has come gone he will have died as a race, just like all the ancestory tells us from previous civilizations also.
Until then, just like Warren Zevon said.......

The future will unfold for itself. Hence, worrying about it won't do much good.

All good points and may I just add an obvious statement? You just never know - all you can do is have faith and be grateful.
