You still can,IMO. Its just a good idea to pick your battles wisely...Some things are just not worth fighting for.

I agree with clouds...it really is a matter of picking one's battles wisely....I've been there and I know 9 times out of 10 it's better to walk away than to fight every battle.

I'm falling right in line with choosing your battles. You can't argue with someone who is just being irrational. On the other hand I do think you have to have a certain amount of respect for other people's opinions.

I hate to argue. I avoid it unless it`s truly worth it... After things cool off, it`s amazing how silly some arguments seem in hindsight.

There are certain topics I am very firm with, in other words I won't be compassionate about anyone else's ideas, BUT, I still respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their beliefs and feelings. I will stand up for any of my actions though as long as I am confident that I was doing what I felt was the right thing to do.

I used to argue at the drop of a hat... I`ve changed a lot.

I see your point about standing behind your actions.  Afro That`s choosing your battles wisely, IMO.

Argue vs. Debate is a big difference too. To me, arguing is trying to convince another person(s) that your stance on something is right while debating is bouncing ideas back and forth with another person or party. Both can get ugly, but I think the more important thing to focus on in anything is the desired outcome, yes?

Good point... Although I don`t do much debating either. Debates can also turn ugly, as you say.
