I know y'all aren't from around my area, but I just don't get this:

(Brighton, N.Y.) - A student at Brighton High School who was struck by a vehicle Saturday night on Elmwood Avenue in Brighton has died.

The Brighton School District says the victim is 14-year-old freshman Henry Sun.

The Brighton Police Department said a vehicle traveling east on Elmwood Avenue near Clovercrest Drive struck Sun in the road around 8:15 p.m. Sun was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he died.

Cry  It saddens me that he lost his life but Saturday night at that time, it was pouring rain out so bad that I couldn't see out my apartment window, not to mention all the lightening in the area.  What was he doing out in this weather? I mean really, it was raining so hard you wouldn't have been able to see anything.

Maybe he got stuck in it unexpectedly? Did the storm start suddenly?

It was raining for most of the afternoon and slowly picked up speed.  Apparently he was about 4 houses from his own home, and I'm sure there are sidewalks in that area.

Sometimes kids of that age feel invulnerable, and they own the right-of-way. Just a thought, not that I think that's what happened. Maybe he was listening to music, and was unaware of a car which couldn't see him. It's a very sad occurance. Also sad for the driver of the car. Sad
