PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has asked Ben & Jerry's to change the way it makes ice cream.

The animal rights group sent the Vermont based ice cream company a letter asking it to start using human breast milk instead of cow's milk.

PETA says cow's milk has been linked to juvenile diabetes, allergies, constipation, obesity, and prostate and ovarian cancer.

Ben & Jerry's responded saying...

"We applaud PETA's novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother's milk is best used for her child."

I hope I  won't make enemies by writing this:
I believe in Animal rights but PETA really pushes the envelope. We had a murder here in Canada a young man was knifed and cannibalized on a greyhound bus bound for Winnepeg

PETA decided to capitalize on that without thought to the family and friends of  the deceased. My God there has to be better ways to bring their point across.High five to Ben&Jerry's.

That is sick, and does nothing to help the animals. Makes PETA look like nut jobs.

The thought of drinking or eating something containing breast milk at my age is revolting. Why doesn't PETA start worrying about humans more than frickin animals.  Roll Eyes

I love animals, but PETA gets too carried away, a lot of the time.

I agree.  I think they blow things out of proportion and/or make things worse.  The first thing I do when I hear the word PETA is to roll my eyes.
