"An out-of-work widower who abandoned nine of his children at a hospital under Nebraska's new safe haven law said he was overwhelmed without his wife and just 'fell apart.' 'I hope they know I love them,' Gary Staton told KETV. 'I hope their future is better without me around them.'

Thats a cop-out, I reckon. Granted, it's tough, but there is always a way. There are support groups for this kind of thing.
I sympathise with the guy for being overwhelmed, but I still think he took the cowardly way.

Well, the way I see it, he could have done worse things. Like murder them, It has been known to happen...
Lots of people snap, and do things you wouldn't believe they would do.
