Nightmare...By cloudddae

I lie awake, filled with dread...
afraid of demons in my head.
Don`t close your eyes my tired mind screams,
I am in fear that I might dream.
frightful visions of guilt and pain...
They wreak havoc on my brain.
Guilt for deeds...so long ago,
real or imagined, they plague me so.
In the darkness of the night,
like a child...I`m filled with fright.
So here I am, still wide awake,
Wondering which path my mind will take.
Without warning the sand man comes...
the long bleak journey has begun.
In a river...black and wide,
reflections of the past collide.
Pulled down into the dark abyss,
waiting for evil`s kiss.
desolate places my unconscious mind roams....
until my alarm clock calls me home.

~Alone~

Where are your friends when you need them most?
They fade away like wisps of smoke.

When things are good, they are always there.
But when you`re sad,
They just don`t care.

Borrow this and borrow that.
Suck me dry, and leave me flat.

Things are borrowed...not returned.
You`d think by now I would have learned.

Drain me of my self respect.
Then move on...what the heck.

As long as you get what you need,
Who am I to curb your greed?

Some would say that I`m a fool,
but to you... I`m just a tool.

One day you too will feel alone,
Only then will you atone,

for your careless hurtful ways.
The day will come when you must pay.

Life can be lonely,
yes indeed.

Especially in your time of need.

Very true, I too feel abandoned sometimes, it makes it hard to reach out, but without a doubt, reaching out is better than closing up....

Emotions are strong...

I have always worried about how I am being judged, lol at one point I hid all my writings, worried people would think I was crazy...lol guess what I am crazy, crazy for writing, crazy for learning and really crazy for living.... I am a crazy people watcher and I love to share my crazy thoughts lol...

I know what you mean, I am very critical of my poem... Seems so dark, and depressing. I almost removed it a few times.
