"If you use compact fluorescent bulbs to light your house, a new study shows you may actually be doing more harm to the environment than good.
That’s a surprising find considering CFLS’s are touted as a greener alternative to traditional lighting."

Wow. That's interesting. We've replaced nearly all of our bulbs with flourescent bulbs in an effort to be more "green". Guess we'll have to make sure we recycle them when they die out instead of tossing them away.

I always wondered about that.  I think 98% of the lights in my place are these type.  The ones in the bathroom have been running for almost 5 years now without replacement.

I've been using the florescent ones myself lately.

I use them too even after reading a few articles like this.
Break a bulb, rip out your carpet?
Energy-saving light bulbs carry risk.....

Be careful though, Clouds. I would look into this further (if you haven't already) before you swear them off.

I`ll probably have to use them eventually. They are fazing out the regular type. Is that what you mean?

Well, it sounds like if you dispose of them properly, meaning recycle them, they are just fine.
