I got the belt, wooden spoon ect. too when I was a child. It made me a kind mother but they still got a slap on the hand or a slight spank on the butt if they were really bad when all else fails. My daughter and Grandson live with me now and I can tell you "Time Out" bites.

Even though I was spanked when I was little, I don't think I'll spank my kids. I have a hard time "spanking" my dog when she's bad! I dunno, I think there's a better way to handle a child who needs discipline.

I was told by a child case worker at one time that sending your kid to his room for a time out is wrong yelling at your kid is wrong.

I have known parents who got investigated by child services for taking away certain games and toys.
